Overview
Our client in Maputo is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring cost-effective procurement processes, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with internal and external policies. This role is essential in optimizing supply chain efficiency and supporting the organization’s operational needs.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Key accountabilities of this role understand customer needs (tactically) and the local supplier;
- Market Execute responsibilities in the procure-to-pay process;
- Inform Category Managers about local dynamics and repetitive transactions;
- Act as the interface between Category Managers and the end users;
- Key outputs of this role Understand category strategies and sourcing plans to support their regional execution;
- Ensure a full understanding of regional buying needs;
- Identify future supply and/or demand issues to ensure a proactive and effective response;
- Where contracts are not in place, select suppliers by getting quotations or executing the tender of the process (with support from relevant Category Analysts);
- Ensure the savings register is managed , kept and communicated;
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure correct delivery.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Tertiary qualification or CIPS diploma (or equivalent;
- 3-5 years experience in procurement;
- Analytical thinking;
- Attention to detail;
- Problem solving;
- Fluent in Portuguese and English.
