Irvine’s has been in operation in Africa for more than 70 years and are the oldest
distributors of Cobb in the world. The Company has operations in Zimbabwe, Tanzania,
Kenya, Mozambique, Botswana, and Mauritius with the Head O ce in South Africa. In
Mozambique we are one of the leading suppliers of Day-Old Chicks, Poultry Feed and
Poultry Medicines and Equipment.
Applications who are suitably qualified are invited to apply for the position of
Management Accountant in our Finance Department and Hatchery in Matola,
Mozambique.
Reporting to the Chief Financial O cer, the Management Accountant is Responsible for
preparing and managing the company’s financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
1.Responsible for preparing departmental financial reports as assigned and within
timescale set
a) Responsible for the maintenance of the trial balance ensuring all GL entries are
processed and reviewed timeously
b) Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliation
c) Reviews and integrates all modules
d) Ensures that all taxes are prepared and submitted timeously as per statutory
requirements (VAT/WHT/SAT)
e) Maintains the fixed asset register
f)
Responsible for monthly inventory reconciliation
g) Reviews and approves Petty Cash vouchers
h) Submits Petty Cash monthly summary expenses for review.
i)
Ensures all cash and bank reconciliations are performed timeously
j)
Revaluates all foreign suppliers and customers monthly balances
k) Acts as a custodian for all company registration documents
l)
Prepares monthly fixed depreciations
m) Prepares monthly accruals and provisions
n) Prepares monthly prepayment reconciliation
o) Ensures that all company assets are adequately covered with the appropriate
insurance and organises renewals when needed
p) Performs any other duties as assigned by the Superior
2. Responsible for Creditors and Debtors management
a) Ensures all supplies invoices are posted timely and both AR/AP module are
integrated to General Ledger
b) Ensures Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable ageing are reconciled to
General Ledger
c) Reviews Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable monthly reconciliations
3. Responsible for ensuring Company Taxes are prepared, paid & recorded timeously
a) Responsible for monthly reconciliations of taxes and tax payment (VAT/WHT)
b) Ensure VAT Refunds are prepared and submitted quarterly
4. Responsible for payroll and benefits management
a) Processes the monthly payroll and ensures adherence to all statutory
requirement
b) Ensures social security (INSS) is processed and paid timeously
5. Complies to all relevant company SOPs & policies, statutory regulations and always
expected company behaviours and implements corrective action when required
a) Complies to biosecurity, QA SOPs & animal welfare standards
b) Complies to Good Hygiene Practice (GHP)
c) Complies to the Company Values, Team Behaviours & Code of Conduct
d) Complies to Company policies and SOPs and all other relevant statutory
regulations
Qualifications and experience required
1. Be a holder of an appropriate Business Degree
2. Be a holder of B.com Post Graduate Degree in Finance/Accounting and
ACCA/CIMA qualified
3. Experience Required
a. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior financial role
b. Work Environment: Working in a structured and metric-based environment.
