How can you make a difference?
A challenging and exciting opportunity has arisen within UNICEF Mozambique for a passionate and committed Information Management Officer (WASH Cluster) NO-1, Temporary Appointment position (364 days) based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Based in Maputo, in coordination with government authorities, and in line with national agreed strategies and prioritization, the Information Management Officer (WASH Cluster) NO-1 level will provide leadership and facilitate for WASH information management between humanitarian actors at national and provincial level. Methodology will include the liaison with WASH partners (Government, NGOs) and other humanitarian coordination actors (including OCHA/HC-RC and other clusters’ IMO) for development and update of information management products related WASH sector response plans, needs assessments, gap analysis and monitoring updates. Similarly, for the UNICEF WASH programmatic response interventions, to provide Information Management (IM) support on the monitoring of WASH activities reported under Project Cooperation Agreements.
The postholder’s main tasks and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Coordination and representation
- Information Management function support
- Needs assessment and analysis
- Strategic response planning
- Resource mobilization
- Implementation and monitoring
- Operational peer review and evaluation
- Accountability to affected people
- Strengthen national and local capacity

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Minimum requirements:
- Education – A university degree in one of the following fields is required: Information Management or Information Systems, GIS Information Technologies, Computer Science, Statistics, Social Sciences or another subject area relevant to Information Management or to the Cluster/ Sector/ Working Group.
- Work Experience: At least 1 year of relevant work experience in information management, data management, geographical information systems, assessments, situation analysis and/or PM&E with the UN and/or NGO is required. Experience in a humanitarian context is required.
- Skills: Experience of demonstrating strong information management skills in a professional context is required for this post.
- Language Requirements: Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken) are required.
Desirables:
- Formal training in Cluster/ Sector/ Working Group Information Management or an advanced university degree are considered an added advantage.
- Experience of working in the humanitarian coordination system considered an added advantage.
- Knowledge of local languages is considered an asset.

Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.

There will be no relocation package offered for this post. The successful candidate will be responsible for his/her own relocation and settlement in the city where the post is based.
