Lead Naval & Structure Engineer
Role:
- The Lead Naval & Structure Engineer is the technical authority in all what relates to naval & marine systems providing the necessary technical support to Marine Operations and Maintenance Departments. The incumbent is the technical owner of the side by side berthing and mooring procedures and tools including the Decision Support Tool (DST). He/She will actively support the production planning team in defining the loading schedule in light of the loading availability.
Main Responsibilities:
- On day-to-day, lead the efforts related to defining the berthing and offloading availability. To achieve this, he shall use the decision support tool and carry out the underlying activities: utilizing the data received by the weather forecast contract, metocean data acquisition and post processing and FLNG responses data acquisition and post processing.
- Based on the berthing and offloading availability, communicate with the Production Planning team to schedule the LNG cargos
- Lead engineering studies related to offloading availability improvement
- Coordinate compatibility studies for new LNGC’s
- Provide the side by side berthing and mooring recommendations to the Marine department for safe and efficient offloading operation.
- Lead the damage assessment workforce and ERP covering the structure integrity, intact and damage stability
- Coordinate the technical activities related to TPM contract
- Provide technical support to the Lead Integrity Engineer to develop RBI program for the hull structure.
- Provide Technical Support to Marine department, Maintenance department and Lead Engineers in what concerns: Marine systems, storage and cargo containment, hull structure, topside structure, mooring systems and navigation aids.
- Monitor the condition and performance; lead the troubleshooting, investigate and recommend actions; lead the RCFA and MOC of the aforementioned systems and advise corrective actions if necessary.
- Conduct the engineering studies related to the systems either internally or through external engineering companies.
- To develop and implement training programs aiming to achieve technology transfer to National work force and develop local talents.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 12-15 years: engineering of offshore and floating facilities
- Naval engineering degree.
- Master of Science and/or MBA degree is a plus.
- Charter engineer or Professional Engineer is a plus
Competencies:
- Engineering skills.
- Expert Knowledge of naval architecture
- Expert knowledge of side by side berthing, mooring and offloading operations.
- Expert knowledge of Marine systems, naval aids, mooring systems, Cargo containment, hull structure and topside structure.
- Fluent knowledge of English.
